Chapter 126 Survival from desperate situation

Deep in the dark forest, the cold wind howled, the shadows of the trees swayed, and the gloomy atmosphere filled every corner. After several days of fleeing, the protagonist finally stopped and leaned against a big tree, panting.

"It's not a solution for us to keep escaping like this." The protagonist said heavily, looking around.

The heroine nodded, her face full of worry, "The enemy doesn't seem to have given up the pursuit. We must find a safe place to rest as soon as possible."

The instructor leaned against the tree trunk and closed his eyes. "We have already gone deep into the heart of the Black Forest. This is the territory of monsters and one of the most dangerous places. But perhaps, this is our chance."

"Mentor, what you mean is that we use the terrain here to fight back?" the friendly character asked excitedly.

"That's right." The instructor opened his eyes, his eyes gleaming with wisdom. "The enemy is not familiar with the environment here, but we have your system capabilities and can adapt quickly. This is our advantage."

At this moment, a low roar of an animal came from not far away, breaking the brief silence. Everyone immediately became alert, drew their weapons, and looked nervously in the direction of the sound.

"Prepare for battle!" At the protagonist's command, everyone quickly entered combat status.

A moment later, a huge black shadow jumped out from the bushes. It was a huge demon wolf with fierce light flashing in its eyes. The demon wolf growled and suddenly pounced on everyone.

The protagonist swung his sword vigorously, fought fiercely with the wolf. The heroine and the friendly character also quickly joined the battle, and the three of them cooperated well and forced the wolf back. The mentor watched the battle from the side, ready to support at any time.

"This demon wolf is just an appetizer. The real challenge is yet to come." The instructor said in a deep voice.

"Teacher, we must find a secret hiding place as soon as possible." The heroine said, the sword in her hand still dripping with blood.

The mentor nodded and looked around, his eyes resting on a dense bush. "There is a hidden cave there. We can hide there for the time being."

Everyone quickly followed the instructor's instructions, walked through the bushes, and found a cave hidden behind the rocks. The entrance was narrow, only enough for one person to pass through, but the space inside was unexpectedly spacious.

"Go in quickly!" urged the protagonist. He was the last one to enter the cave and carefully covered the entrance with branches.

After entering the cave, everyone finally breathed a sigh of relief. The instructor lit a torch, and a faint fire lit up in the cave.

"We need to hurry up and recover our strength," the instructor said. "The enemy won't give up easily, but the terrain here is complicated and they won't be able to find us for a while."

The protagonist sat by the fire, pondered for a moment, looked up at the mentor, "We can't just be passively defensive all the time, we have to find a way to fight back."

The instructor nodded. "You are right, but the most important thing now is to make sure everyone recovers to their best condition. Next, we need to develop a detailed plan."

The heroine took out a map, spread it on the ground, and pointed to a point. "This is our current location, the center of the Black Forest. There is a hidden path here that leads to the enemy's rear. If we can use this path, we may be able to catch them by surprise."

The friendly character looked at the map and said excitedly, "What a great idea! We can attack the enemy from a place they least expect and deal them a fatal blow."

"But this road is definitely filled with all kinds of traps and monsters." The instructor frowned, "We must be very careful."

"No matter how dangerous it is, we must give it a try." The protagonist said firmly, "For our companions and our goals, we can no longer retreat."

Everyone nodded, their eyes full of determination.

As night falls, the sound of the wind outside the cave becomes more and more harsh, but in this small shelter, the protagonist and his companions are accumulating strength and preparing for the next tough battle. They know that although the road ahead is full of dangers, as long as they unite, they will be able to survive, resolve the crisis and regain hope.
