Chapter 400 - 400: 400: It's Yours Now
At this point, though, none of that needed to be discussed anymore. All he had to do was wait until later today or tomorrow, ask Sirius for some of that face-changing potion, then sell the shop he'd secretly purchased in Diagon Alley to the twins.
Sigh...
For a professor to reach his current level...
Amazing. Truly amazing.
He couldn't keep talking about it.
If he did, he might start falling in love with himself.
As soon as breakfast ended, Kasenhis swiftly dragged Sirius into a corner.
"The face-changing potion we used back at the Romanian dragon reserve when we scared Lupin. Do you still have any left? I need it urgently."
Kasenhis lowered his voice.
"I do, but what do you need it for?"
Sirius asked curiously.
"Don't ask. Well... I'll tell you, but don't go spreading it around. That six-hundred-Galleon shop? It's mine."
Originally, Kasenhis hadn't planned on telling Sirius.
But Sirius was an adult, capable of keeping a secret, and since he was borrowing the man's potion anyway, revealing a little wasn't a big deal.
"A professor taking things this far is truly one of a kind. Seriously."
Sirius sighed in admiration.
"Can't help it. I'm soft-hearted. I can't stand seeing kids suffer."
Kasenhis casually made up an excuse and brushed Sirius off.
Then he followed Sirius toward the storage room to fetch the potion.
As the potion flowed down his throat, his face transformed just as it had during the prank on Lupin, rapidly changing into the appearance of an ordinary man.
"Alright, I'm off. Make sure to urge the Weasley twins to hurry up and buy that shop. Otherwise I'll just be sitting there by myself doing nothing."
Kasenhis turned to leave, only for Sirius to reach out and stop him.
"I can do that. But aren't you forgetting something? Magical contracts require your real name."
Sirius pointed out.
"Mm.... ah, right....."
Kasenhis's teleportation abruptly halted.
He had genuinely forgotten about that.
For wizards, a person's name was closely tied to both their magic and their fate. In the realm of contract magic, a name could even rival the Unbreakable Vow in importance.
That said, contracts inevitably carried a hint of commercial flavor.
And whenever anything became associated with business, sneaky tricks, shady dealings, and all manner of scams inevitably followed.
Thus, the scam version of magical contracts was born.
Simply put, one could use someone else's name, or even a completely fictional name that didn't exist at all, to conduct business transactions.
That way, breaking the contract later would come with absolutely no consequences.
Of course, he had previously taught the seventh-years how to distinguish genuine contracts from fake ones, but.....
Weasley twins.
You actually dare use the methods I taught you to examine the contracts I give you....
Heh heh heh....
Without hesitation, he pulled out a Name Tag.
[Fraudulent Contract] (crossed out)
[Magical Contract]
After modifying the contract, Kasenhis used Ender Teleportation to arrive at the shop he had purchased in advance.
Meanwhile, Sirius began chasing the Weasley twins all over Black Manor, urging them to hurry up and buy a shop.
Then, from inside the shop he had purchased, Kasenhis clearly witnessed something...
The Weasley twins walked straight into Gringotts and then emerged carrying a sack.
A sack stuffed to the brim with what appeared to be gold.
If it had been an ordinary wizard carrying that much gold, even in Diagon Alley, where Aurors were everywhere, there would inevitably be people willing to take the risk.
But the ones carrying the gold were the Weasley twins.
Clearly, the brothers themselves were not to be trifled with.
As twin sons of a pure-blood family, it was hardly surprising that they possessed a few unusual magical tricks.
Not to mention that they had both the Weasley family and their teacher Kasenhis standing behind them.
No one here could confidently say they could survive the endless retaliation of the Weasley family and Kasenhis.
Kasenhis, however, wasn't thinking about any of that.
Instead...
He had finally realized something.
The Weasley twins were honest?
Honest my arse!
That four hundred Galleons they had shown earlier had almost certainly been an act.
At this point, though, he wasn't even surprised anymore.
After all, he had been finding increasingly creative ways to funnel benefits toward the twins for quite a while now.
It would actually be stranger if they didn't have savings.
"Wait a second... they're this rich now, and I just helped them put on that whole performance to squeeze money out of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, and I even bought this shop for them..."
"Wasn't that all completely pointless?!"
"If I'd known they were this loaded, why did I bother with all these extra schemes? Seriously!"
Kasenhis clicked his tongue in exasperation and rested his head on the counter.
He had underestimated the Weasley twins.
Originally, he had assumed they destroyed half the gold and kept half.
But judging from what he was seeing now, there was a very good chance they hadn't destroyed a single piece.
They had probably melted every last bit of it down into gold.
"These two idiots..."
Kasenhis shook his head with a helpless smile.
Thinking about it, he realized he was being contradictory.
When the Weasley twins were poor, he complained that they didn't know how to work the system.
Now that he'd discovered they had worked the system a little too well, he was complaining about that too.
There was clearly something wrong with him.
The Weasley twins headed straight for the shop where Kasenhis was waiting.
He had already asked Sirius to give them the shop's address beforehand, saving them the trouble of searching for it themselves.
"Boss! This shop is six hundred Galleons?"
The twins pushed open the door and got straight to the point.
"If you've got the money, then let's just sign the contract."
Kasenhis placed the fake contract on the counter and spoke bluntly.
"Sounds good."
The twins were equally straightforward.
They counted out six hundred Galleons from the sack behind them and piled them onto the counter.
Then the two immediately began carefully inspecting the magical contract, checking for any strange tricks.
They searched for decorative patterns that were actually words, hidden clauses disguised as ornaments, or microscopic text invisible to the naked eye.
Only after confirming that the contract appeared flawless did they take out a quill and sign their names.
"Excellent. From this moment on, the shop belongs to you."
"I need to get out of here. Best of luck with your business."
As he spoke, Kasenhis watched the magical contract burn away into the void.
Then, just like the previous owner who had sold him this shop, he swiftly left the premises and made a quick getaway.
The difference was that nobody knew where the previous owner had fled to.
Kasenhis, meanwhile, seamlessly returned to Black Manor.
