Chapter 776 - 776
Chapter 776 - 776
"That Ms.Nangong doesn't look like someone who can cook."Yaze Motoki nodded in agreement.
"Plus, I heard she comes from a prestigious family background. She must be the type of young lady who's never done any housework, right? If she enters the kitchen, she might end up making food that rivals Asagao's cooking!"
"Do you have any problems with my cooking skills?"
From the front seat, Asagao shot him a dissatisfied look.
"In fifth grade, the cake you made sent fourteen boys in our class to the hospital. Do you need me to remind you of that glorious achievement?"
"No need for you to remind me!"
Asagao glared at him angrily.
"Yaze, I'll relay your words exactly as they are to Natsuki-chan."
Eiji said mercilessly.
"Please have mercy!"
Yaze Motoki immediately put on an apologetic smile.
"As compensation, I'll treat you to lunch today!"
"Now you're being sensible!"
The two walked out of the classroom with their arms around each other's shoulders.
"By the way, Asagao, Kojou, do you want to join us?"
"I'll come too!"
Asagao glanced at her desk compartment, thought for a second, then followed them with a bright smile.
"I'll pass."
Kojou shook his head and pulled out a lunch box from his desk compartment.
Asagao left the classroom with Eiji and the others. From Kojou's position, he could clearly see the lunch box in her desk compartment that was twice as large as a normal one.
"The three of them get along so well!"
He didn't think much of it, just sighed with admiration before opening his lunch box and digging in.
"Is Kojou here?"
Before he could take more than two bites, their homeroom teacher entered the classroom.
"Someone's looking for you."
"Looking for me?"
Kojou felt quite frustrated but had no choice but to close his lunch box and follow the teacher out of the classroom.
In the office.
"I remember you're Eiji's guardian... Natsuki-chan?"
Kojou looked at the petite young girl before him. Despite the weather being over thirty degrees, she was wearing a black gothic dress that looked incredibly hot.
He scratched his cheek and tentatively asked.
"Smack!"
Then the young girl's face darkened, and she hit him with her fan.
"Ouch!"
Kojou held his forehead, tears welling in his eyes.
"Although I'm a teacher at the high school, I'm also your elder. You're not allowed to use the suffix '-chan' when addressing your elders!"
The young girl spoke with a slight lisp, but she carried an authority that made Kojou dare not refuse.
"Sorry..."
"Let me ask you, did that kid come to your house to play yesterday?"Nangong Naye put away her folding fan and asked him with a calm expression."
Her tone, filled with authority, felt more like an interrogation than a question.
People with particular preferences would probably enjoy being treated like this by her.
But Kojou wasn't that kind of person.
He thought to himself.
"Huh?"
Under Natsuki-chan's questioning, he froze abruptly.
Eiji came to his house to play yesterday?
No way!
Yesterday afternoon after school, Nagisa fell ill. He took her to the MAR research institute's hospital and stayed there for most of the day. By the time he returned home, it was already dark.
As for Eiji, they hadn't even met, let alone exchanged a single phone call.
"Hmm?"Nangong Nanyue's expression turned sharp."
"Ah, yes yes yes! That did happen!"
Kojou suddenly slapped his forehead.
As if remembering something, he hurriedly agreed.
"What did you guys play?"
Nangong Nayue pressed on relentlessly.
"Since when did you become so nosy?"
Kojou immediately froze.
"Could it be that Nayue-chan... uh, I mean Teacher Nangong, are actually the type who can't bear to be away from your child?"
He instinctively started to say "Nayue-chan," but was startled by her raising her folding fan and quickly corrected himself.
"None of your business! Whether I can bear to be away from my child or not has nothing to do with you. Just answer my question honestly!"
Nangong Nayue's expression darkened.
Though her youthful face was cute, the look that suggested she was about to lose her temper made Kojou shiver with fear.
"Well..."
He hesitated, his tone strained.
He seemed both embarrassed to speak and as if he was searching for the right words.
"Ah, right! I've got something good at my place! That's why I invited him over!"
"Tch!"
Nangong Nayue clicked her tongue.
But did her expression soften slightly?
To avoid angering her, Kojou had been secretly watching her expression and thought this to himself.
"Fine, you can go back now."
She waved her folding fan, shooing him away like a fly.
Though confused, Kojou obediently left—his stomach still hadn't been filled yet.
"My, my, so Senior Nayue is this concerned about her own child?"
A woman from the nearby table leaned over, looking quite amused. Dressed in a Chinese-style qipao that accentuated her curvaceous figure, she chuckled mischievously.
"I'm their PE teacher, you know. Want me to help look after him for you, Senior?"
"Shut up, you damn dog."
Nangong Nayue coldly snapped back, then vanished into thin air.
...
"Class dismissed. Finals are approaching, so if you don't want to fail, make sure to review today's material properly!"
After leaving this concerned reminder, the teacher strode away.
With no one to maintain order, the classroom instantly became lively.
"Finally, school's over!"
Asagi let out a big stretch with a groan, showcasing her rather impressive figure for her age.
It was just past four in the afternoon, and the sun was still strong. Sweat trickled down her neck, soaking through her school T-shirt.
Already a beauty, she was particularly eye-catching at times like this.
"By the way, tomorrow's the weekend. Any plans?"
She pulled out her phone, checked the time, let out an excited cheer, then turned to look at the three boys behind her.
"Going to the hospital to see my sister."
Kojou's answer was straightforward. He was already packing up, rushing off to the hospital as if heading to a market.
"Kojou, sometimes I even think your concern for your sister borders on creepy."
Asagi accepted Kojou's "I'm not a siscon" rebuttal with her usual expression, then turned to Eiji, asking casually.
"What about you, Eiji?"
"Finals are coming up. Need to study."
Eiji nodded, answering with great seriousness.
Saikai Academy operated on a two-semester system, with winter break starting in mid-December. Only about two or three weeks remained until final exams.
"Oh? Want me to help you?"
Hearing this, Asagi broke into a pleased smile.
"My grades have always been in the top ten of our year! Lots of people beg me for help but never get the chance!"
"No need."
Eiji clenched his fist, striking an indignant pose.
"Relying on others to achieve something—what kind of strong person does that make you!"
Aoyama Asagao choked up instantly.
Her face wore a frustrated expression of wanting to retort but being unable to.
"Pfft!"
The sound of suppressed laughter came from her right side, making Asagao shoot an angry glare at Yaze Motoki.
"Such a waste of a straight guy!"
"What a pity!"
Nearby classmates gathered in small groups, whispering their regrets and resentment among themselves.
