Chapter 954 - 953: Bloody Battle
Chapter 954 - 953: Bloody Battle
Scarlet blood splattered out, hitting the face, scorching hot, salty and fishy."Ahhh!"
Immediately followed by a wail of agony.
The delight in the attacker's eyes had no time to blossom before it turned into bewilderment and fury, his expression twisted with rage as he roared.
The knife strike that was bound to succeed surprisingly failed to pierce Chu Ge. In a flash, it once again mistakenly struck his companion, stabbing deeply into his back.
Just moments before, Chu Ge had pressed his hands holding the Butterfly Knife firmly on the ground, suddenly flipping upwards, spreading and closing his legs to trap the neck of another person behind him.
Immediately, Chu Ge shifted his weight forward, exerting force in the opposite direction with his legs, adding a human shield to block the knife with their own comrade's body.
All of this seems complicated, but from the moment Chu Ge and these people started fighting, only a few seconds had passed; Li Zheming had just taken two steps!
There were six of them in total, and now two were already hit. Chu Ge had a weapon in his hand and fully believed that Li Zheming wouldn't get away!
He slightly released his legs, kicked the opponent's chin to push the knife deeper, rolled on the ground, sprang to his feet, and then charged towards Li Zheming.
Seeing Chu Ge closing in, Li Zheming screamed "Oh my God," crapping his pants in terror. He wanted to run, but his legs suddenly gave out, and he fell to the ground with a plop.
"Go! Move quickly!"
The person next to Li Zheming shouted, grabbing his arm and dragging him up like pulling a dead dog.
"Stop! Your opponent is us!"
A roar came from beside Chu Ge. One of Li Zheming's reinforcements fearlessly charged at him, placing himself between Chu Ge and Li Zheming, and stabbed at Chu Ge with a knife.
"Scram!"
Chu Ge hesitated slightly, sidestepped the first strike, and before the second stab could reach him, his Butterfly Knife flashed coldly through the air, slicing the man's throat.
This wasn't an ordinary fight; it was a life-and-death struggle. It was either kill or be killed, so Chu Ge showed no mercy.
The man's throat emitted an indistinct sound, arms tightly clutching Chu Ge, pupils wide open, turning to glance at the others.
Out of six people, one was dead, two were injured, leaving only three with full combat capability. One of them still had to leave with Li Zheming.
Chu Ge pushed the man who died on him aside, a large patch of crimson blood already staining his body, resembling a battle deity.
If it were an ordinary person, witnessing such a scene would have already weakened their knees, but aside from Li Zheming, everyone around Chu Ge had their gazes turn increasingly cold and resolute.
Li Yi squinted his eyes, "Impressive! Truly impressive! Tell me, is Uncle Jin dead? Did you kill him?"
Chu Ge coldly left four words, then continued walking towards Li Zheming, "Who knows?"
By now, Li Zheming was scared out of his wits, unable to stand as the person beside him dragged him, but how fast could they move this way?
Chu Ge was in no rush to catch Li Zheming. As long as Li Zheming didn't leave his line of sight, it was fine. There were potential dangers around, and he didn't want to let any of them slip by.
"Good, very good!" Li Yi gritted his teeth, glanced at the others, and took out a transparent bottle from his pocket containing a dark brown pill, smaller than a quail egg.
Not just Li Yi, but the other three did the same, taking out their bottles, exchanging glances, and swallowing the pill inside.
If fighting in a normal way wouldn't work, then they were willing to risk it all. If they were to die here anyway, at least they needed Li Zheming to escape, at least they must kill Chu Ge, who indirectly caused Park Sungjin's death, and likely directly killed Jin Haohun!
Clink...
Four empty bottles were thrown to the ground as Li Yi and the others stepped towards Chu Ge simultaneously.
Hearing those soft sounds, Chu Ge paused slightly, turned his head, and furrowed his brows, his expression growing somber.
It seemed that the upcoming fight wouldn't be easy whether or not he could capture Li Zheming remained uncertain.
Be it Jin Haohun before or these people today, was it worth risking their lives over someone as conceited and useless as Li Zheming?
Chu Ge pinched his brow, his gaze fixed on Li Yi, "You will die. Even if I don't kill you, you will die all the same."
Li Yi replied calmly, "We know."
"Either way, you're going to die. Can't you tell me who you really are?" Chu Ge raised his hand, pointing at Li Zheming, whose pants were long since wet, "And this waste, who exactly is he?"
"He's the person we must protect at all costs, that's all." Li Yi twisted his neck and took a knife from a companion's hand, "There's no need for you to ask anything else because you're a dead man too."
Chu Ge shrugged, "Alright then, let me put it this way. Since I'm also a dead man, could you at least let me die knowing why?"
"I'm afraid not."
As soon as Li Yi finished speaking, the four of them charged at Chu Ge fiercely. Their speed and momentum were completely different from before. If they were like wolves earlier, now they were like ferocious tigers.
Chu Ge was indeed very disappointed, but there was nothing he could do. After all, life isn't like movies or TV dramas. Not all villains are idiots who babble endlessly. In reality, even enemies with whom you must fight to the death are often worthy of respect.
Li Yi and his group were just like that.
Looking at the four men, Chu Ge could only grip his two butterfly knives tightly and charge towards his opponents.
This was a brutal fight, truly brutal. Li Yi's group showed no fear of being stabbed, hurt, or even death. As the drugs took effect, they couldn't feel pain, only a maddening battle spirit spreading within them, driving them to slash again and again, adopting a scorched-earth approach.
While Chu Ge was battling fiercely, Li Zheming finally stood up, crawling and scrambling to follow another person down the mountain, fading out of Chu Ge's sight.
Ten minutes later, Chu Ge stood in the same spot, his clothes already tattered beyond repair, with large patches of bloodstains covering his chest, back, thighs, and arms. Around him lay five bodies that would soon grow cold.
The blood was both theirs and Chu Ge's, dripping and staining the mottled leaves red.
Chu Ge sighed, pinched the bridge of his nose with his bloody fingers, and a slight bitter smile appeared on his face.
In the end, Li Zheming still got away. These guys were really troublesome when they went berserk...
Chu Ge wanted to call Lin Gaoze. He pulled out his phone only to find it shattered. It was only a few days old, and now he needed to get a new one.
Throwing the phone aside, Chu Ge walked to each of the five people in turn, crouched down, and ran his fingers over their eyes, closing their eyelids.
"Thud."
Chu Ge also lay on the ground, not even knowing how many wounds he had on his body. He'd lost so much blood that he was starting to feel dizzy and lightheaded.
His body had gotten a bit too used to the comfortable life. Such small injuries, and here he was making a fuss. In the past, they wouldn't have been anything.
Chu Ge curved his lips into a self-deprecating smile, and suddenly, he seemed to vaguely hear sounds of fighting.
Hmm?
Chu Ge frowned slightly and pressed his ear against the ground to listen closely. This time, he was certain he hadn't misheard; the battle seemed to be happening down the mountain.
Supporting himself on the ground, Chu Ge stood up. He hesitated for only a few seconds before heading down the mountain.
The sounds grew clearer. He could just about make out a woman's voice. That voice... why did it sound so familiar?
Chu Ge quickened his pace. After another two minutes, he finally saw from a distance where the noise was coming from.
Besides Li Yi's motorcycle, there were a few more cars at the foot of the mountain, and the fight was happening near those cars.
At a glance, Chu Ge's pupils constricted sharply. No wonder the voice sounded familiar—it was He Qing!
Why... was she here?
He Qing's opponent was the same guy who had taken Li Zheming away earlier. Judging by the scene, He Qing was at a disadvantage, constantly defending and struggling.
As for Li Zheming, he was standing near the two, with his back facing Chu Ge's direction. Who knew what he was contemplating?
Chu Ge frowned deeply. Ignoring the many wounds on his body, he moved as quietly and swiftly as he could. In his current state, it was better to ambush than confront directly.
In fact, He Qing had been quietly following Chu Ge since this morning.
This guy had been living such a regular life these past few days. When he suddenly mentioned he had something to do today during a casual chat yesterday and left alone early in the morning, He Qing found it odd and inexplicably worrying.
So, yesterday she secretly rented a car and followed him as soon as he left. She knew Chu Ge's habits too well. Besides, she might not be very strong in other areas, but her tailing skills were top-notch, so Chu Ge hadn't noticed her at all.
Unfortunately, while following him, she eventually lost him during the turmoil. After all, she rented a sedan which was far less agile than a motorcycle and couldn't simply squeeze through any alleyway.
Later, He Qing could only search along the traces left by Chu Ge's motorcycle. Although these traces weren't particularly obvious, they were very helpful to her.
That's how she found her way there, just in time to see Li Zheming being taken down the mountain. Pretending to ask for directions, she intended to talk to the person, but they immediately attacked her.
