Chapter 6 Seeing Liu Ruyan Again
Chapter 6 Seeing Liu Ruyan Again
"Leslie Cheung's 'Silence is Golden'."
"What? You haven't heard of it?"
"You really are a bumpkin. Your dad was born with musical talent, what do you know?" Ye Fan put a washed grape into his mouth.
"Damn it, you show-off," Zhao Mingzhe said, stroking his guitar. "You keep fiddling with it, I need to go back and study, or I'm really doomed tomorrow."
After saying that, he ran straight home.
-----------------
"Ding ding ding~~~"
Ye Fan's phone rang.
It turned out to be a call from Tang Yanning.
"Strange? Why would they call themselves at this time?"
Ye Fan picked up his phone and pressed the answer button: "Yan Ning, what's up?"
"Ye Zi, are you free now?"
Tang Yanning's anxious voice came from the other end of the phone, with the background sound of a QR code payment notification. "Could you come to my house for a favor? My mom sprained her ankle, it's quite serious, she needs to go to the hospital for an X-ray. I can't carry her downstairs by myself..."
"Okay! I'm coming right away!"
Ye Fan readily agreed.
After hanging up the phone, he quickly changed his shoes, went out, hailed a taxi, and headed straight for the Yulongwan residential complex.
..............
We arrived at Liu Ruyan's house.
At this moment, Ye Fan still wanted to see Liu Ruyan and see what kind of expression she would have when she saw him.
Ye Fan pressed the doorbell.
"Ding-dong ding-dong~~~"
With a "click," the door opened.
Ye Fan went inside.
As soon as I went inside.
The first thing that catches the eye is Liu Ruyan.
In the living room, Liu Ruyan was curled up on the sofa. She was wearing a comfortable off-white silk robe, her brows furrowed in pain from her ankle, her expression pained, and she barely dared to move.
Under the soft light, her long hair was elegantly styled in an updo, revealing her beautifully shaped neck and collarbone.
This was the first time Ye Fan had seen Liu Ruyan so relaxed and at home.
Although she appeared vulnerable due to her injuries, her gentle and mature feminine charm was even more pronounced. Sunlight streamed through the window, casting a soft glow upon her.
When Liu Ruyan heard someone come in, she subconsciously looked up. When she saw that it was Ye Fan, she was obviously stunned for a moment, and an unnatural blush flashed across her face.
She clearly hadn't expected her daughter to call Ye Fan over, especially since she was wearing a bathrobe and her appearance wasn't exactly "formal."
She awkwardly tried to pull down the hem of her robe to sit up straighter.
Tang Yanning then noticed her mother's clothes and quickly explained, "Mom, I asked Yezi to come and help. You sprained your ankle, and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle it by myself."
As she spoke, she quickly walked into the bedroom, took out a thin cardigan and draped it over Liu Ruyan's shoulders. "Put this on quickly, don't catch a cold." Only then did she realize that it was usually just the two of them at home, and her mother was used to dressing like this. She hadn't considered Ye Fan's presence in her haste.
"Hello, Auntie," Ye Fan greeted politely, his demeanor natural and concerned.
"Hello, Ye Fan... Thank you so much." Liu Ruyan tried her best to remain calm, but the heat on her face was hard to dissipate, and her voice was somewhat awkward.
...........
Tang Yanning squatted down to examine her mother's ankle closely. It was red and swollen, with a lump forming. "Mom, does it still hurt a lot?"
Liu Ruyan nodded, gasping in pain.
"Let me apply some safflower oil to relieve the symptoms first, and then we'll go to the hospital right away for an X-ray."
Tang Yanning got up to get the safflower oil from the table and carefully applied it to her mother's red and swollen area.
"Ye Zi," Tang Yanning said, turning to Ye Fan after applying the medicine, her voice pleading, "Could you please help me carry my mother downstairs? She definitely can't walk anymore. I'll go to the door and call a taxi to save time."
"No problem, leave it to me," Ye Fan replied immediately, walking over to the sofa and squatting down.
Liu Ruyan quickly waved her hand: "No need, no need! Just help me, it's too much trouble for Ye Fan..."
"Mom, don't push yourself!" Tang Yanning said firmly. "What if you twist your ankle again and it gets worse? Yezi, thank you for your hard work." As she spoke, she quickly walked to the door to press the elevator button.
Ye Fan squatted steadily in front of the sofa, gesturing for Liu Ruyan to lie down on him.
Liu Ruyan watched as her daughter went to press the elevator button. Feeling helpless and embarrassed, she could only carefully lean on Ye Fan's back, gently wrapping her arms around his shoulders, keeping her body as far away and stiff as possible.
Ye Fan carried Liu Ruyan on his back and walked steadily towards the door. Liu Ruyan was tall and well-proportioned, standing at 175 centimeters, and maintained a very good figure. Ye Fan carried her without difficulty, but he could sense her tension and unease.
"The elevator is here!" Tang Yanning called out from the doorway.
Ye Fan quickened his pace to catch up. Liu Ruyan, swaying slightly, instinctively tightened her grip. Feeling the change in weight behind him, Ye Fan carefully steadied his steps, making sure she wouldn't feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. He focused intently on smoothly delivering her to their destination.
For someone like Ye Fan, carrying Liu Ruyan was incredibly easy, and they arrived smoothly at the entrance of the residential area and got into a taxi.
The three arrived at the hospital ten minutes later.
Tang Yanning hurriedly went to register.
Only Ye Fan and Liu Ruyan remained on the chairs in the corridor. They sat side-by-side, a subtle awkwardness settling in between them. Last night's experience seemed like an invisible membrane separating them.
The longer I sat there, the more awkward it became.
Finally, Ye Fan broke the silence. He lowered his voice, his tone slightly teasing but not excessive: "You looked much better than last night. You sprained your ankle, but you seemed more energetic?"
These words were spoken.
Liu Ruyan's face flushed even redder, her eyes darting away as she whispered reproachfully, "Don't talk nonsense...it's not true." She subconsciously tugged at the cardigan draped over her shoulders.
