Chapter 174: Finding a Shop

Day two.

Today was her day off, and Song Miqiu, unusually, was reluctant to get out of bed. She struggled to get out of bed and went outside, only to see Tian Yumei and Qiu Tianlei staring at her in surprise.

Seeing the couple's appearance, Song Miqiu thought that the human skin mask on her face had fallen off, and she was so frightened that she quickly put her face back on.

Touching the human skin mask, Song Miqiu breathed a slight sigh of relief. She put her hands on her hips and looked at Tian Yumei and Qiu Tianlei, the couple, with great confusion. "Am I something? Why are you two looking at me like that?"

"No." Qiu Tianlei glanced at his wife. "Mom, we thought you went to work. We had already eaten and didn't call you."

Song Miqiu thought it was something serious, but she waved her hand dismissively, "It's nothing, anyway, I didn't tell Yumei that I was taking the day off."

Tian Yumei frowned and quickly put the child in her arms on the ground. "Mother, why don't you go and do something for a while? I'll make you something to eat right away. You're getting old, you can't go hungry, it's not good for your health."

Song Miqiu choked for a moment, looking at the other person with a touch of emotion, but still waved her hand, "It's alright, I have to go out for a bit now. If you get hungry later, you can just eat something outside. You two stay home and take good care of the two children."

She decided to check if Qingzhi had any news. After all, several days had passed since the incident with the jade pendant, and given Qingzhi's methods, he should have already provided any information if he wanted to.

As Song Miqiu lifted her skirt and stepped onto the stairs, she was being invited inside by the waiter when a man came out to greet her.

The two nearly collided, but Song Miqiu reacted quickly and grabbed the door frame to prevent them from colliding.

She looked up, and the other person was looking back at her.

When Song Miqiu saw that Qing Zhi was already waiting in the teahouse, she was somewhat surprised and said, "I thought you hadn't come to the teahouse yet, and I was just about to wait for you here for a while."

"What a coincidence!" Qingzhi smiled and stood there with his arms crossed. "I was just about to go find you, and here you are!"

The two exchanged a knowing smile, while the waiter stood aside, looking at them with a bewildered expression, perhaps unsure how to handle the situation.

"Alright, go ahead and get busy. I know this person." Qingzhi raised his chin to the waiter beside him and explained to Song Miqiu with a smile, "This is a new waiter who joined us these past two days. He doesn't know you, otherwise he would have called out your name to me just now."

Song Miqiu nodded in understanding.

"What brings you here?" Qingzhi took out a jade pendant from his belt and waved it in front of Song Miqiu. "Is this about this matter?"

"nature!"

Song Miqiu smiled and agreed, reaching out to take the jade pendant. Qingzhi obediently handed it to her, lowering his eyes to look at the pendant in Song Miqiu's hand and saying softly, "It's too difficult to get any information from this jade pendant."

"I've been carrying this jade pendant around for the past few days, searching everywhere for information about it, but to no avail," Qingzhi said, pinching his brow bone as he recalled his experiences.

"I had given up hope on this thing, but then I suddenly got the news, so I was going to come find you and tell you about it."

Song Miqiu lowered his head and rubbed the jade pendant with his thumb. It seemed that Qingzhi had been rubbing it on his body for the past few days, making the jade pendant look very bright.

She smiled and looked up, asking in confusion, "But what news did you receive?"

Qingzhi looked around warily, then reached out and grabbed Song Miqiu's wrist, leading her into a small alley. He whispered, "I heard that this jade pendant is actually a key."

"key?"

Song Miqiu subconsciously looked at the jade pendant in her palm. She couldn't help but fiddle with it, but couldn't figure out what it was. "How can you tell that this is a key?"

"This key is not that key. There is a shop in the capital where you can store things, and this jade pendant is what you need to take things out of the shop."

Now Song Miqiu understood: to retrieve the item, he would definitely need to exchange the jade pendant with the shop owner.

There must be clues about her father in that shop!

With that in mind, the two of them decided not to delay any longer.

Before looking for Song Miqiu, Qingzhi first inquired about the location of the shop. This way, when he brought Song Miqiu along, he wouldn't be searching for the shop aimlessly like a headless fly.

They wandered around for an unknown amount of time, and Song Miqiu grew somewhat tired.

Leaning against the stone wall, Song Miqiu looked around and couldn't help but take the water bottle from her waist. She tilted her head back and poured the entire bottle into her mouth.

Feeling revived, Song Miqiu felt much better. She looked around and glanced at Qing Zhina. "No, I can't walk anymore."

She never expected this shop to be so hard to find!

Song Miqiu looked back at the path she and Qingzhi had taken; she had no idea how long they had walked.

Qing Zhi used his light-footed skill to fly up to the top of the alley. He braced himself with his hands on the ground to stabilize his center of gravity, scanned the area ahead, and called out to Song Miqiu in the alley, "You stay here for a while, I'll go ahead and scout the way."

Song Miqiu nodded, watching Qingzhi walk forward, her hand pressed against her lips, wiping away the water droplets.

At the same time, Song Miqiu pounded her thighs. She hadn't done such a lot of exercise in a long time. Running with Qingzhi for so long had pushed her to her limits.

She was a little distressed. If she had known this would happen, she should have let Qingzhi find the exact location before bringing her here.

"Song Miqiu!"

Song Miqiu hung her legs down and looked up.

A smile spread across Qingzhi's face, and he shouted loudly at her, "I found it!"

He used his light-footed skill to fly in front of Song Miqiu, grabbed her arm and pulled her up, while at the same time hooking his arm around Song Miqiu's stomach and pulling her into his arms.

Qingzhi carried Song Miqiu in his arms and sped forward.

He brought the person to a shop and landed. Song Miqiu steadied herself and then got out of Qingzhi's arms.

Looking up at the shop's decorations, she couldn't help but exclaim, "No wonder they use jade pendants as keys; this shop must be worth a lot of money!"

Song Miqiu's gaze swept across the entire shop, and he couldn't help but start to take stock of it.

As she calculated, her eyes lit up; she was practically ready to rush forward and stuff the entire shop into the system to earn points or upgrade the system.

"The most urgent thing is to find out about that jade pendant." Qing Zhi was exasperated by Song Miqiu's greedy nature. He raised an eyebrow, his brow bone resting on the jade pendant in her hand.

Song Miqiu came to her senses and also felt that what Qing Zhi said made a lot of sense.

She nodded, and the two walked into the shop side by side, a sense of tranquility washing over them.
