Chapter 605: New Specimen
Chapter 605: New Specimen
Chu Miao hadn’t faced such an arrogant person since Mrs. Dong tried to force her to bring her supplies when she went out and even had her son block her outside the main entrance during the extreme heat disaster.
Did people become so clueless just because she hasn’t shown her face in a while?
Just as Professor Song was about to argue again, a few voices suddenly came from the end of the corridor sounding excited.
"Little Miao,"
"Little Miao, you finally came to see us. This old man has missed you to death." Professor Wu and Professor Tang came running like kids who had seen candy.
"Hey Grandpa Wu, Grandpa Tang." Chu Miao smiled at the two old professors.
After getting to know each other better, the two professors had said that they were about the same age as her grandfather and there was no need to be so distant and formal.
So, they asked her to call them grandpa and Professor Song insisted on being called Uncle Song.
"You really know how to hide, little girl. I haven’t seen you in so long I thought you had abandoned us." Professor Wu said with a light laugh.
"How could I ever do that? I just thought that I wasn’t strong enough to protect you well, so I went into seclusion to improve my strength. How could I bear to abandon you all?" Chu Miao also laughed.
It was when she was with people who treated her so carefreely like family that she could behave like the teenage girl that she was.
"Did you come to see the new specimens we have or did you bring more?" Professor Tang asked curiously.
"Both. But it seems I am not welcome here?" Chu Miao said and smiled knowingly at the two middle-aged researchers still standing in front of the door with their mouths wide open in shock.
They hadn’t expected that the person they blocked had such influence.
"Uh? What happened here?" Professor Wu turned to the two people and asked solemnly.
"Professor, we...we...we just saw that this young girl was trying to enter the specimens room and we didn’t want her to cause trouble. So, we blocked the way." The middle-aged man said.
The next moment, a slap landed on his face.
"Is there anyone more qualified to enter this lab than Little Miao? You are here because of her and you dare to block her?" Professor Wu asked angrily.
"What....what do you mean?" The middle-aged woman asked timidly.
"What do I mean? You blocked her even without knowing who she is. Where is your brain?" Professor Wu asked again.
"Hey, Grandpa Wu, there is no need to ruin your health in anger. But since when did our sect have such arrogant people? What happened to recruiting according to character first?" Chu Miao asked in confusion.
"It seems that they have lived a too comfortable life here; they forgot how it is outside." Professor Tang interjected.
"Then maybe they should join the hunting team to understand the principles of the apocalypse." Chu Miao said seriously.
"I’ll go and get it done." Yang Leo, who had appeared next to them at some point spoke.
"No, please, we didn’t mean to be disrespectful. But we are researchers. What right does this young girl have to send us out to hunt zombies?" The man asked, still not understanding the situation.
"Up to this moment you still don’t understand what you did wrong." Professor Tang said with a shake of the head.
"What did we do wrong?" The man asked.
"This here is Chu Miao, the sect leader. You blocked her from accessing the lab when she is the one who provides you with everything. Do you think you were right?" Yang Leo couldn’t take it anymore and spoke.
"Sect....sect....sect leader?"
They had heard rumors that the sect leader was a young girl, but they never expected her to be so young.
Who made her the sect leader when she was clearly just a teenager?
"Little Miao, come , come inside and see the specimens we have and show us what you brought us." Professor Wu didn’t want to entertain the clueless idiots anymore and pulled Chu Miao towards the specimen room.
The other two professors followed closely behind while explaining their research progress to Chu Miao.
The two clueless researchers remained outside looking like they had swallowed a fly.
"Go and register for the hunting team. Then maybe you will understand that in this base, people respect each other no matter age or status." Yang Leo spoke to them.
"But, we are just ordinary researchers. Also, we didn’t know who she was. How were we supposed to know that she was the sect leader? She is so young." The middle-aged woman spoke with an aggrieved expression.
"The fact that you are arguing like this shows that you still don’t know what you did wrong." Yang Leo said, looking grim.
"What happened here? I heard that Miao Miao was spotted here? Did something happen?" A voice came from the end of the corridor.
Yang Leo turned around and found that it was Feng Tu coming towards them.
"She went inside. The old professors have been waiting for her for so long, they wouldn’t let her go just like that." Yang Leo replied with a smile.
"Huh! It’s such a hustle to have such a popular best friend. I can’t even see her when I want to." Feng Tu said, but the smug expression on her face didn’t escape Yang Leo.
"If you didn’t look like you were gloating, I might have believed you." Yang Leo said with a smile.
Chu Miao always looked serious, but she still made people want to dote on her.
That was why she was so popular in the sect.
Seeing that they were being ignored, the two researchers knew that they didn’t have another choice and obediently left the lab and headed to the administration office to change their department from research to hunting.
This surprised those in the office but they didn’t ask unnecessary questions.
