Chapter 21 Heavy Rain
Chapter 21 Heavy Rain
The wind blowing in from the window already had a damp smell, and Lu Xuan quickly closed all the windows in the house.
Wu Yang just happened to come back, dragging a pile of wood that was broken off from something that was hard to tell what it was made of. It was cut so smooth that it must be some kind of furniture.
"It's going to rain heavily." Wu Yang was slightly surprised when he saw Lu Xuan waiting at the door early.
Lu Xuan looked at the rabbit in his hand and was a little confused: "You can find time to catch rabbits?"
Wu Yang proudly shook the plump rabbit in his hand and said, "It just happened to be like this. You're lucky. Let's eat roasted rabbit today."
"Okay, I'll roast it and you kill it." Lu Xuan said.
"Can you roast rabbit?" Wu Yang looked at Lu Xuan in surprise, his eyes full of disbelief.
"No... Comrade Wu Yang, in your eyes, what kind of human am I? Good-for-nothing or a resource transporter?"
"He must be a good-for-nothing pretty boy."
Lu Xuan was silent.
"Oh, I'm just kidding. I'm going to kill a rabbit. You go to the next door and start a fire. Do you need flint or wood?"
"Click", a flash of fire appeared in Lu Xuan's hand. He had brought the lighter with him early.
"Then go and make a fire. There is some wood that is easy to light in the room opposite." Wu Yang looked at the face illuminated by the fire, and his whole body seemed to soften.
"Okay, remember not to get blood on your clothes. I will definitely not wash your clothes or anything like that!" Lu Xuan said solemnly.
Wu Yang smiled, picked up the rabbit and went to deal with it himself.
Wu Yang was shocked as soon as he entered the door. He turned around and looked at Lu Xuan who was going to the next room. Could it be that he was packing up everything when he went out?
All the messy things in the house were put away, and there was even a pile of snacks on the table in the living room. There must be nothing to put all these snacks in, so they had to use plastic bags as a bottom layer.
Wu Yang is a person who doesn't know how to live well. He is not elegant and has no interest in life. He thinks that if there are flowers here, Lu Xuan can probably add some flavor.
"I wonder who will marry this pretty boy in the future." Wu Yang thought about this and started to get busy.
The two of them were busy with their own things and got along peacefully, but Wu Yang found that Lu Xuan seemed to be deliberately avoiding his gaze, which made Wu Yang very unhappy and confused.
The bonfire was lit, and the prepared rabbit was placed on the fire and began to roast, sizzling with oil. Lu Xuan carefully added seasonings while paying attention to the heat.
Wu Yang sat on the side drinking a box of milk. He silently watched Lu Xuan grilling meat seriously. Although he didn't know how to describe it, he just felt that he was quite handsome.
The atmosphere was just right and the two of them heard hurried footsteps almost immediately. They looked at each other, Lu Xuan remained silent, and Wu Yang took out his dagger without anyone noticing.
"What is it?" Lu Xuan asked in a low voice.
"It doesn't look like a monster. Its steps are too fast. It looks more like a human." Wu Yang answered in a low voice.
"People?" Lu Xuan didn't quite understand. It had already started raining outside. Did this person come here to take shelter? Did he come here specifically?
"Kill him?" Wu Yang said sinisterly.
Lu Xuan was speechless when he saw Wu Yang's murderous look in front of him. He quickly shook his head and said, "Can you not be so murderous?"
"If you don't kill him, will you keep him and eat my meal together?"
"Then we have to see who killed him. I have never seen any bloody scenes... Don't do anything rash." Lu Xuan said.
"Okay..." Wu Yang nodded.
"Brother Yang, are you home?"
The shout startled the two men. Lu Xuan looked at Wu Yang uncertainly, "Is that Han Song's voice?"
Wu Yang nodded, "It seems to be that guy."
Wu Yang stood up to open the door. They were now living opposite each other. Lu Xuan looked at the rabbit and then at Wu Yang who was getting up to leave. He was very curious, so he picked up the rabbit and followed Wu Yang.
"You are roasting a rabbit. I'm going to see what's going on." Wu Yang turned around and stopped Lu Xuan from following him.
"Let me see."
"It doesn't look good. I'm hungry. You should bake it faster. Don't you want to show off your skills?" Wu Yang looked at Lu Xuan dimly.
This made Lu Xuan pause. After hesitating for two seconds, Lu Xuan waved his hand and said, "Forget it. You go and handle it. I don't think I know him very well."
"Then bake it well."
Lu Xuan stared blankly at Wu Yang as he left, feeling inexplicably uncomfortable. He sighed as he looked at the greasy rabbit and continued to roast it silently.
Although there was some distance between them, he could still hear something, as if someone was talking about Jiang Jiang. Lu Xuan didn't understand. What was Jiang Jiang doing? Or...
Immediately afterwards, Han Song came in from outside. Wu Yang stood aside with his arms crossed. Han Song was soaked all over, his face full of helplessness and anxiety.
"Lu Xuan, do you have any antipyretic medicine? Jiang Jiang has a fever, and we don't have any medicine. Jiang Jiang has a fever." Han Song looked at Lu Xuan with a pale face.
Lu Xuan was shocked when he heard this. He quickly stood up and said, "I brought these medicines. I'll get them for you."
Wu Yang silently watched Lu Xuan run back in panic to get the medicine. He said to Han Song, "I have to say you're quite smart. You knew to run this way. Is it because you know Lu Xuan is kind-hearted?"
Han Song was helpless and pleaded, "Brother Yang, I have no other choice. Jiang Jiang will die if he doesn't take the medicine."
Wu Yang did not answer. Although he knew why Han Song did this, he still didn't understand why Han Song had to make himself so embarrassed. It would be much better for him to live alone.
Lu Xuan came out after a long time. When he came out, he was carrying a bulging backpack filled with fever-reducing medicine, a handful of snacks, and some rice.
"At Jiang Jiang's age, he only needs to take half a pill in the box, once every eight hours," Lu Xuan said. "I put a small alarm clock inside. I won't need it right now, so I'll use it to tell you how to count. I also put some food in there."
Lu Xuan handed Han Song his backpack and an umbrella. "The rain is getting heavy. You can't get wet. Do you need a dagger? There might be monsters outside."
Wu Yang didn't know what to say when he heard this. Looking at the boy in front of him who wanted to empty his house, Wu Yang was so angry that his teeth were itching. He was now very sure that this brat was a traitor.
"Thank you, thank you..." Han Song was surprised by the big bag.
"Don't thank me, just go back quickly." Lu Xuan immediately drove him away.
"Okay... I'll repay you next time." Han Song said, then hurried downstairs with an umbrella and a backpack.
Lu Xuan took a deep breath and sat back in his previous position to start toying with the rabbit. Wu Yang squatted beside him and asked, "I'm almost jealous of you giving away such good things."
"They don't need these things, so I think it's reasonable for them to give them. And no matter from which perspective, I think this is what they should do." Lu Xuan looked at Wu Yang, "We have different ideas. Wu Yang, this is my decision. I can't tolerate someone who can be saved dying in front of me. It's immoral."
"Good people like you would definitely be among the first to die at the beginning of a disaster," said Wu Yang.
"There should be another possibility." Lu Xuan handed the roasted rabbit leg to Wu Yang.
Wu Yang took it and sat down casually. "There is indeed another possibility. That is, among the group that lives the longest, more people will be influenced by you and willing to sacrifice for you. Humans really are a very amazing species."
"Some people will always remember your kindness for a small gift, while others will take it for granted. There's a saying..." Lu Xuan thought for a moment, "A drop of kindness should be repaid with a spring. Although not all people in the world are good, they are definitely not all bad."
Wu Yang quickly stopped him, "Stop! Please don't tell me those nonsense. If I really listen to them, I'm afraid I'll do something unbelievable."
Lu Xuan frowned, snorted coldly, and didn't bother to pay attention to Wu Yang. He complained in his heart that he and Wu Yang really couldn't get along.
